Engine Oil:The most important fluid would be the engine oil. Engine oil lubricates and cools all the internal moving parts inside the engine. You can learn more about our Oil Change service here. |

Transmission Fluid:Transmission Fluid lubricates and cools your car’s transmission. Allowing smooth shift gears and it keeps that car moving on the road. The transmission fluid has to be changed at pre-set intervals as recommended by each manufacturer. This will potentially make your transmission last the life time of your car. You should check your transmission regularly, for signs of leaks and make sure fluid level is at manufacture pre-set marks. |
Power Steering Fluid:Power Steering Fluid lubricates internal hydraulic steering components and helps ease steering effort. Vehicles built today can be equipped with a Hydraulic power steering system (Uses power steering fluid) or an Electronic power steering system (Does not use power steering fluid). If equipped with a hydraulic power steering system you will need to check this fluid regularly. Make sure the power steering level is above the minimum line to prevent air from going into the system. If air gets into your hydraulic power steering system serious damage can happen to you steering system components. |
Brake fluid:Brake Fluid is very important to maintaining the proper functioning of your brake system. Brake fluid is hydroscopic which means it absorbs moisture. If moisture contaminates the brake system it could corrode some of the internal brake components which in the end may result in a brake failure. Making sure your brake fluid reservoir cap is on is one way to ensure moisture does not contaminate the brake fluid. Brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years or when the brake fluid has a 4% moisture content contamination. For the exact manufacture interval brake fluid change check your vehicles owners manual or factory scheduled maintenance. |
Coolant:The main function of this fluid is to cool and maintain engine operating temperature. Also coolant is used to lubricate your internal cooling system components like your water pump. It has a life span and it needs to be periodically tested and replace. When coolant becomes acidic which it can lead to engine corrosion, degrading rubber hoses and system leaks. Fortunately by changing the coolant periodically it will save you unnecessary and premature repairs. |
